根据基本科学指标数据库（essential science indicators，简称esi）2024年3月15日发布的最新数据显示（2024年3月15日更新，数据涵盖11年：2013年 - 2023 年12月），我校尚未有学科进入esi学科前1%。为了解我校学科进入esi前1%的潜力情况，选取incites 数据集（incites 数据集更新日期 2024年2月29日。包含 web of science 标引内容 2024年1月31日）湖北民族大学2013-2024年 esi 22个学科发表的web of science论文的被引频次，并分别与esi 学科阈值进行比较，并计算出与 esi 绝对差距和与 esi 潜力值，esi 潜力值越接近1，表明该学科进入 esi 前1%行列的可能性越大。由于incites 数据集更新日期2024年2月29日。包含 web of science 标引内容截止 2024年1月31日。晚于esi数据涵盖数据范围2023年12月31日，因此实际发文量和引用量略有增加，会导致潜力值比实际略微偏高。
